Hearing Screenings

All Preschool, Kindergarten and first grade students, and all students new to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, will have a hearing screening performed by a Speech Language Pathologist unless the school is notified in writing by October 1, 2017. If a student does not pass the hearing screening after two attempts, the Speech Language Pathologist will send a “Consent for Hearing Evaluation” permission form to the parent. If you receive this form, please return by the required date.

Parents of students being monitored for history of hearing less should be aware that their child may receive this consent form also, if not previously signed. Without signed permission, students WILL NOT receive a free hearing evaluation by the school’s Audiologist.
